“841 Feet Closer To Heaven”
© 2011 Melissa Vargo Carlini http://sweetmelissavphotography.com

This photo was taken on July 15, 2011 on the rooftop of the UPMC Building (formerly known as the US Steel Building) which is one of the highest buildings in downtown Pittsburgh, PA.  My fiance, Donnie and I had a once in a lifetime opportunity to go on top of this building for an exclusive photo shoot. This is a night I will never EVER forget!! They used to allow people up on top of this building for special occasions but after 9/11 that has all but stopped and very few people are ever allowed up there now except for the maintenance workers that maintain the building. The setting sun was PERFECT that night and the rising moon was AMAZING! It turns out that the Full Moon rising that night was at the same altitude as the sun as it was setting, the last time that happened was 12 years ago!! We could not have chose a better night to have this opportunity. I hope you enjoy my photo and thank you so much for taking the time to look at it!

This photo was taken with my Nikon CoolPix P100. I cropped it in Corel Paint Shop Pro and adjusted the clarity just a little bit to make the colors pop. 🙂 If you would like to purchase this work of art, please feel free to view my listing for this capture at my Etsy Shop 🙂
